Mr. Allen career spans more than 35 years and encompasses work within both public and privately-held corporate entities.
His Corporate experience includes work in a number of industries, to include: Automotive - The Ford Motor Company (Cleveland/Detroit); Energy/Chemicals - Exxon Corporation (New York/Orlando/New Jersey); Personal Care Products - Soft Sheen Products (Chicago); Healthcare - The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare (Chicago); Oil/Gas - Amoco (Chicago) and Natural Gas - Williams Companies (Tulsa). During his 25+ ears in Industry, Mr. Allen served in the capacity of Manager, Director, Vice President and Corporate Officer and was responsible for providing leadership and guidance to staffs of up to 150 employees. His assignments included direct or functional leadership of staff in such far flung places as The UK, Belgium, Holland, South Africa, Brazil, Lithuania and Venezuela.
Mr. Allen's Entrepreneurial experience spans more than 10 years of management and ownership within several fast-paced Small Businesses. He has held the position of President and/or CEO in each of these ventures, with full P & O responsibility.
He possesses degrees in Business Administration (BS and MBA) and obtained his Masters Degree in Business with a concentration in Personnel and Industrial Relations from the University of Detroit.
Mr. Allen has performed successfully in a wide variety of corporate and business environments and has achieved leadership roles within each of the organizations within which he has worked. He brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to his present role of President/CEO of Essex Energy Marketing LLC. He has leveraged the contacts that he has developed on a world-wide basis, bringing these to bear in the Fuels Business. These contacts now include direct relationships with Refiners and Allocation Holders that have afforded Essex the opportunity to gain unprecedented access to Petroleum products and pricing. These contacts have also afforded Essex the opportunity to develop close personal relationships with a number of our suppliers who have become our partners in the sourcing of fuel and other commodities on a world-wide basis.
Essex continues to search for the strongest and most reliable fuel providers who have a comprehensive knowledge of the intricate requirements related to the purchase, sale, financing and logistics of fuel and commodity trading as we prepare Essex Energy Marketing for continued success in the industry.
Fred Van Eman, Co-Founder / Principal
Mr. Van Eman's career encompasses nearly 35 years, with experience gained as an entrepreneurial business development executive and consultant, supported by many years of post-graduate professional education.
Having managed all of the key functional activities generally associated with executive leadership, he has significant strengths in planning, budgeting, sales, marketing, and project management, as well as the management of start up businesses, programs, and projects. His background also encompasses merger and acquisition efforts associated with creating and launching IPO's - most significantly in the Oil Exploration and Production industry. His acquisition experience includes companies and technologies valued in excess of $100 Million.
He adds more than 15 years of experience in accessing capital and capital markets to his national recognition for personal sales and award-winning sales offices. He is the Principal with world-wide responsibility for Essex' outside sales offices, and interfacing with brokers or referral agents who directly represent qualified buyers of oil and refined products.
Mr. Van Eman started his career in the oil industry in the mid 1970's, as an equity partner and manager for an Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company. He was also responsible for sales of services and support for the oil and nuclear power industry worldwide, helping to develop client companies and profitable business alliances with organizations throughout the US, Europe, and the Middle East.
Fred's work in Exploration and Production affords him a unique outlook related to the actual work of "making oil." This experience associated with oil and gas production in addition to refined petroleum products brings him into direct and intimate contact with the inner workings of this Industry on a daily basis.
His extensive background in business startup and development provides a well-balanced counterpoint to Mr. Allen's broad based corporate background. His knowledge of the Oil Industry provides him a unique perspective. And, his many years in the capital markets allow him to help buyers understand how Essex' transactions meet their expectations for safe, profitable trades.
Essex Energy Marketing is thus well-positioned to work capably with large corporate buyers and end users, as well as the independent reseller of fuels in the secondary marketplace.
